Oh they don’t know you

and you’re wading deeper

than you know

and when a cub becomes a fighter

he takes his lead from an elder

who has so much more room to grow

Come on poet

show us what you know then

Did you think it was over

'cos so did I

I can’t take on the tiger while I’m still this child

and if something was worth saving I’d have thought we’d try

it’s getting so hard to remember to be fair and kind

But it’s been a long time

and I’m still in your life

Calling out like a ranger

looking for a bone to break

and your eyes are bigger than I’m used to

Oh non ti conoscono

e stai guadando più a fondo

di quanto tu sappia

e quando un cucciolo diventa un combattente

prende il comando da un anziano

che ha così tanto più spazio per crescere

Vieni poeta

mostraci quello che sai allora

Pensavi che fosse finita

perché anche io

Non posso affrontare la tigre mentre sono ancora questo bambino

e se valesse la pena salvare qualcosa, avrei pensato che ci avremmo provato

sta diventando così difficile ricordare di essere leali e gentili

Ma è passato molto tempo

e sono ancora nella tua vita

Chiamando come un ranger

alla ricerca di un osso da rompere

e i tuoi occhi sono più grandi di quelli a cui sono abituato
