I live in the clouds

I’ve got a house up there

I’ve got a small yard and tall fences

The neighborhoods not as nice as you think

Nobody talks to me

They stand perfectly still

Never moving

Except after a while I’ll notice somebody’s arm is in a different position than

it was five years ago

Just ever so slightly

Maybe I’m some kind of mosquito to them

Moving faster than they could ever dream to

Or perhaps have a nightmare about

I don’t remember how I got here

I just was

I don’t remember where I lived before but I had a name, I know that much

You quickly lose need for a name with no one to talk to

No one to call you by it

They get names though

That guy over there, his son

That little one, next to the big one

That wide one, next to the slightly less wide one

Every time I jump off I land back on the same cloud

I wonder if they even know I’m here

Vivo tra le nuvole

Ho una casa lassù

Ho un piccolo cortile e alte recinzioni

I quartieri non sono così belli come pensi

Nessuno mi parla

Stanno perfettamente immobili

Mai in movimento

Tranne che dopo un po' noterò che il braccio di qualcuno è in una posizione diversa da quella

erano cinque anni fa

Sempre così leggermente

Forse sono una specie di zanzara per loro

Muoversi più velocemente di quanto potrebbero mai sognare

O forse avere un incubo

Non ricordo come sono arrivato qui

Lo sono stato

Non ricordo dove ho vissuto prima, ma avevo un nome, lo so bene

Perdi rapidamente la necessità di un nome senza nessuno con cui parlare

Nessuno che ti chiami per questo

Hanno nomi però

Quel ragazzo laggiù, suo figlio

Quel piccolo, accanto a quello grande

Quello largo, accanto a quello leggermente meno largo

Ogni volta che salto giù, atterro di nuovo sulla stessa nuvola

Mi chiedo se sanno anche che sono qui
