Strains of delight come greet my ears

Such music sweet can ease all fears

As windy waves upon the shore

Do calm the cormorant by their roar.

Wistfully watching I wonder

As ships go out to sea

At mariners yonder

And how their lives must be.

With oceans to wander coves of tranquillity

Oh none could be fonder

Of his sailor’s life than he.

Sights of beauty come soothe my eyes.

Paint pcitures pure to flay disguise,

Of coral reefs and sheltered bays,

Unchartered coastlines to appraise.

Through foul or fair

All tempests you’ll bear

Yet show not a care

For the danger you’re in.

Idyll of grandeur excite my mind,

Conjure up peace with adventure entwined;

Crystal clear fathoms and myriad wrecks,

Attired in booty arrayed on their decks.

Spettacoli di bellezza vengono a lenire i miei occhi.

Dipingi le immagini pure per scuotere il travestimento,

Di barriere coralline e baie riparate,

Coste inesplorate da valutare.

Guardando malinconicamente mi chiedo

Mentre le navi vanno in mare

Ai marinai laggiù

E come devono essere le loro vite.

Con gli oceani che vagano per calette di tranquillità

Oh nessuno potrebbe essere più affettuoso

Della sua vita da marinaio di lui.

Attraverso fallo o giusto

Tutte le tempeste che sopporterai

Eppure non mostrare una preoccupazione

Per il pericolo in cui ti trovi.

Ti lasci tutto alle spalle

Parenti commerciali e la tua specie

Affinché l'argano a vento

E un filato da filare.

L'idillio della grandezza eccita la mia mente,

Evoca la pace con l'avventura intrecciata;

Brani cristallini e una miriade di relitti,

Vestita con bottino schierato sui loro mazzi.
