The Town (Narration) - The Band

Years ago.

..

there was a place called the Land of Point.

And that is because everything in the Land of Point had one.

The barns, the houses, the carts, everything, even the people.

Everyone in the Land of Point had a point on the top of their head.

Everyone, that is.

..

with the exception of Oblio.

Now, although Oblio was born to a set of normally pointed parents and although

he was born physically perfect in every other respect, he was born without a

point.

He was round headed.

And as time past Oblio became increasingly aware of his uniqueness and so did

everyone else, which made life in the Land of Point rather uncomfortable for

him and his parents.

You see, Oblio became sort of a involuntary celebrity and he was subject to the

sometimes cruel and unusual harassment from his schoolmates.

It wasn’t easy being the only pointless person in the whole Land of Point.

And in an effort to make life easier his mother knitted a pointed cap for him

to wear.

..

it was to conceal his pointless condition.

But it didn’t do much good because everyone knew he didn’t have a point.

So it only managed to make Oblio a little lonelier.

In fact, the only real friend that he had was his dog — Arrow.

Anni fa.

..

c'era un luogo chiamato la Terra di Point.

E questo perché tutto nella Terra di Point ne aveva uno.

I granai, le case, i carri, tutto, anche le persone.

Tutti nel Paese di Point avevano un punto in cima alla testa.

Tutti, cioè.

..

ad eccezione di Oblio.

Ora, sebbene Oblio sia nato da una serie di genitori normalmente appuntiti e sebbene

è nato fisicamente perfetto sotto ogni altro aspetto, è nato senza a

punto.

Aveva la testa tonda.

E col passare del tempo Oblio è diventato sempre più consapevole della sua unicità e così ha fatto

tutti gli altri, il che rendeva la vita nella Terra di Point piuttosto scomoda

lui e i suoi genitori.

Vedete, Oblio è diventato una sorta di celebrità involontaria ed è stato soggetto al

molestie a volte crudeli e insolite da parte dei suoi compagni di scuola.

Non è stato facile essere l'unica persona inutile in tutta la Terra di Point.

E nel tentativo di semplificare la vita, sua madre gli ha lavorato a maglia un berretto a punta

indossare.

era per nascondere la sua condizione inutile.

Ma non ha funzionato molto bene perché tutti sapevano che non aveva ragione.

Quindi è riuscito solo a rendere Oblio un po' più solo.

In effetti, l'unico vero amico che aveva era il suo cane: Arrow.
