Grandma's Comforter - The Days

I remember as a child going to my grandma’s house

And at bedtime she would come in, in her faded cotton gown

In her faded cotton gown

She would tuck me ‘neath the covers after we had said our prayers

She’d ask angels to protect me so that I would not be scared

Sometimes later on at night, When the fireplace would go out

When outside the wind was howling, I’d hear the rustle of her gown

She’d get out that old comforter and throw it over me

It felt so warm and peaceful as I went back to sleep

Grandma’s comforter was there on cold nights to keep me warm

As I lay in peaceful sleep I knew I was safe from harm

I trusted her with childlike faith holding to her loving arms

Under grandmas comforter, a shelter from the storm

And now that I am grown-up with children of my own

They’ll never know my grandma because she already gown

But I remember what she told me as I sat close by her side

If you’ll give your heart to jesus you’ll have this comforter all the time

Grandma’s comforter still here on cold nights to keep me warm

No matter what the problem he’ll keep me safe from harm

I trusted in him with childlike faith holding to his loving arms

Ricordo che da bambino andavo a casa di mia nonna

E prima di andare a letto entrava, con la sua vestaglia di cotone scolorito

Non conosceranno mai mia nonna perché è già vestita
