We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives

abundance has left us in want.

Our knowledge has made us cynical.

Our cleverness, hard and unkind.

We think too much and feel too little.

More than machinery we need humanity.

More than cleverness we need kindness

and gentleness.

Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be

lost.

And all will be lost.»

L'avidità ha avvelenato le anime degli uomini, ha barricato le

mondo con odio, ci ha fatto precipitare nella miseria e nello spargimento di sangue.

Abbiamo sviluppato la velocità, ma ci siamo chiusi dentro. Macchine che danno

l'abbondanza ci ha lasciato nel bisogno.

La nostra conoscenza ci ha resi cinici.

La nostra intelligenza, dura e scortese.

Pensiamo troppo e ci sentiamo troppo poco.

Più dei macchinari abbiamo bisogno di umanità.

Più dell'intelligenza abbiamo bisogno di gentilezza

e gentilezza.

Senza queste qualità, la vita sarà violenta e tutto lo sarà

perso.

E tutto sarà perso.»
