A Note on the Kitchen Table - The Prom

Now you lie awak in the middle of the night.

Lying next to her, your honorable wife.

She’s unaware of your intentions tonight.

She just breathes in and out to sustain life.

You grab some paper and a pencil from the drawer.

You sit at the table where she feeds you dinner.

Scratching your head to find the right words,

you’re not sure if you can really do this.

Ora sei sveglio nel cuore della notte.

Sdraiato accanto a lei, la tua onorevole moglie.

Stasera non è a conoscenza delle tue intenzioni.

Si limita a inspirare ed espirare per sostenere la vita.

Prendi carta e matita dal cassetto.

Ti siedi al tavolo dove lei ti offre la cena.

Grattarsi la testa per trovare le parole giuste,

non sei sicuro di poterlo fare davvero.
