If you think torture and killing only happens far away

Then let me open up your eyes and point to Basque Country

Where for centuries It’s people have been living in fear

Where striving for freedom is a crime so fuckin' dear

It’s an ongoing struggle for a free democracy

A call to end all oppression of the Basque parties

Who have been banned from elections though in the majority

We all know that Franco’s dead

but his regime can still be seen

Freedom for Euskal Herria

Brothers and sisters imprisoned a thousand miles away

Just so their families have to travel

To a remote part of Spain

Their youth forever lost for their wholehearted belief

and what should be their human right of life lived totally free

When ETA put down their arms and tried to negotiate

time and time again, the Spanish governments too afraid

to face the fact the only solution is to set them free

it’s about respecting the people of the Basque Country

Se pensi che la tortura e l'uccisione avvengano solo lontano

Allora lascia che apra gli occhi e indichi i Paesi Baschi

Dove per secoli le persone hanno vissuto nella paura

Dove lottare per la libertà è un crimine così fottutamente caro

È una lotta continua per una democrazia libera

Un appello a porre fine a tutta l'oppressione dei partiti baschi

Che sono stati banditi dalle elezioni anche se in maggioranza

Sappiamo tutti che Franco è morto

ma il suo regime può ancora essere visto

Fratelli e sorelle imprigionati a migliaia di miglia di distanza

Solo così le loro famiglie devono viaggiare

In una parte remota della Spagna

La loro giovinezza perse per sempre per la loro fede sincera

e quale dovrebbe essere il loro diritto umano alla vita vissuta in totale libertà

Quando ETA ha deposto le armi e ha cercato di negoziare

più e più volte, i governi spagnoli hanno troppa paura

per affrontare il fatto che l'unica soluzione è liberarli

si tratta di rispettare il popolo dei Paesi Baschi
