Classic Jazz - The Starting Line

Lights come on from neighbors woken up and the flash

is our cue for the dash to the car to the back porch,

where we laugh and we pass to the left and reflect

on expected repetativenes.

The Dial didn’t slip an inch from that station.

We were floating in your room to the songs of classic

jazz flowing all night long.

As fast as we’re leading our lives,

it’s music that still makes us come out at night for good times.

Lighten up cause its summer and we’re just having fun.

We’re too young to be out-running and ducking the fuzz.

But your room was a safer than a spacious place witht

the clarinet filling the entire thing.

The dial didn’t slip and inch from that station that

would play the hits of our grandparents' time,

while I flawlessly chime in at the hit of the ride and say…

I’m floating

Static.there's nothing but static programed by popular

demand… and then a light appeared directly over my

head and it illuminated as great as the idea that came.

It was simple, we won’t listen to commercials or the

same ten songs over and over and over…

I’m flying from your room to the sun with classic jazz

still spilling from my lungs.

Le luci si accendono dai vicini svegliati e il flash

è il nostro spunto per la corsa verso l'auto nella veranda sul retro,

dove ridiamo e passiamo a sinistra e riflettiamo

sui ripetitivi previsti.

Il quadrante non è scivolato di un pollice da quella stazione.

Stavamo fluttuando nella tua stanza ascoltando le canzoni del classico

jazz che scorre tutta la notte.

Così velocemente conduciamo le nostre vite,

è la musica che ci fa ancora uscire di notte per divertirci.

Illuminati perché è estate e ci stiamo solo divertendo.

Siamo troppo giovani per essere in fuga e schivare il fuzz.

Ma la tua stanza era un posto più sicuro di un posto spazioso

il clarinetto che riempie il tutto.

Il quadrante non è scivolato e a pochi centimetri da quella stazione

suonerebbe i successi dei tempi dei nostri nonni,

mentre io intervengo in modo impeccabile al colpo della corsa e dico...

Statico.non c'è altro che statico programmato da popolare

richiesta... e poi una luce è apparsa direttamente sopra il mio

testa e si illuminava tanto quanto l'idea che veniva.

È stato semplice, non ascolteremo gli spot pubblicitari o il

le stesse dieci canzoni ancora e ancora e ancora...

Sto volando dalla tua stanza al sole con il jazz classico

ancora fuoriuscendo dai miei polmoni.
