Sometimes I have to ask myself,

How it is that we survive,

We know trains, boats, planes and cars

Will sometimes fail,

And if one don’t get you then the other one will,

And if the other don’t get you then another one surely will.

Inside, your heart must keep on going,

And so must all the other parts too.

Illnesses and poisons lie in wait,

I’m not just talking 'bout the mountain climbers,

Jungle explorers or even hang gliders,

I’m not just talking about test pilots,

Steeplejacks, stuntmen or racing drivers.

Half the people in the world behave

Like they’d like to see the other half dead,

With guns and knives or perhaps just unconcern,

And if one don’t get you the other one will,

And if the other don’t get you then another one surely will.

I’m not just talkin' about the mountain climbers.

I’m not just talkin' about testpilots.

Steeplejacks, stuntmen, or racing drivers.

I’m not just talkin' about lion tamers.

Human cannonballs or secret agents.

I’m not just talkin' about skydivers.

Trapeze artists or rodeo drivers.

I’m not just talking 'bout bounty hunters.

Astranouts, boxers, or billy bunters…

A volte devo chiedermi

Com'è che sopravviviamo,

Conosciamo treni, barche, aerei e automobili

a volte fallirà,

E se uno non ti prende, lo farà l'altro,

E se l'altro non ti prende, lo farà sicuramente un altro.

Dentro, il tuo cuore deve andare avanti,

E così anche tutte le altre parti.

Malattie e veleni sono in attesa,

E se uno non ti prende l'altro lo farà,

E se l'altro non ti prende, lo farà sicuramente un altro.

Non sto solo parlando degli alpinisti,

Esploratori della giungla o anche deltaplani,

Non sto parlando solo di piloti collaudatori,

Steeplejack, stuntman o piloti da corsa.

Metà delle persone nel mondo si comportano bene

Come se gli piacerebbe vedere l'altra metà morta,

Con pistole e coltelli o forse semplicemente indifferente,

E se uno non ti prende l'altro lo farà,

E se l'altro non ti prende, lo farà sicuramente un altro.

Non parlo solo degli alpinisti.

Esploratori della giungla o anche deltaplani.

Non sto parlando solo di collaudatori.

Steeplejack, stuntman o piloti da corsa.

Non sto solo parlando di domatori di leoni.

Palle di cannone umane o agenti segreti.

Non parlo solo di paracadutisti.

Trapezisti o conducenti di rodeo.

Non sto solo parlando di cacciatori di taglie.

Astranout, pugili o billy bunter...
