You know it never felt easy pretending when I knew I had lost my way

All I knew was the darkness

All I felt was the emptiness as it tried to consume me

So I kept wearing crown that just kept weighing me down

Heavy headed I fell to my knees

And every time i found a light I could keep

I just kept pushing and pushing until I drowned it in what was me

So I gave in to the pressure

And started to forget who I use to be

Felt like the weight of the world had pushed me deep underground

And the earth had me surrounded

I’d rather burn bright for others

I lost the spark keeping me alive

I pushed myself until the light had burnt out

And all the hope had been lost

And I had given up on myself
