Soteriology - White Willow

In scarlet fields where fallen angels sleep:

a ground upon which mortals dare not tread,

where moves the image of the fallen man

who holds the star within his hand

beneath the shadow of a darkened sun:

intoxicated by the wine of life

we slumber through our days of emptiness

and blindness and forgetfulness.

Within the fire of awakening:

there lies the core of my triumphant self.

a spark ignites a freedom greater than all life,

my mystery profound.

Upon the altar where the chalice stands:

where coils the serpent round its offering

of knowing and of sight, the power to transcend

beyond the tyrant’s throne.

Nei campi scarlatti dove dormono gli angeli caduti:

un terreno su cui i mortali non osano calpestare,

dove si muove l'immagine dell'uomo caduto

che tiene in mano la stella

all'ombra di un sole oscuro:

inebriato dal vino della vita

dormiamo nei nostri giorni di vuoto

e cecità e dimenticanza.

Nel fuoco del risveglio:

lì sta il nucleo del mio io trionfante.

una scintilla accende una libertà più grande di tutta la vita,

il mio mistero profondo.

Sull'altare dov'è il calice:

dove avvolge il serpente intorno alla sua offerta

della conoscenza e della vista, il potere di trascendere

oltre il trono del tiranno.
