Mulberry - Yoko Ono

During the war I was evacuated to the country and I used to go and get

Mulberries from the Mulberry bush so that I could feed my younger brother and

sister and myself.

And I just remember that feeling of reaching the sky and the fields and the

bush, the Mulberry bush.

I was alone and just picking.

It is getting a bit cold, though the sky is still blue because the sun is going

down behind the mountains.

And I was feeling a bit frightened because they said there were many ghosts in

the field and I was a little girl and had to go back home all by myself.

It’s getting dark…

So this is how I did the Mulberry song…

Durante la guerra venni evacuato nel paese e andavo a prendere

Gelsi dal cespuglio di gelso in modo che potessi nutrire mio fratello minore e

sorella ed io.

E ricordo solo quella sensazione di raggiungere il cielo, i campi e il

cespuglio, il cespuglio di gelso.

Ero solo e stavo solo raccogliendo.

Sta facendo un po' freddo, anche se il cielo è ancora blu perché il sole sta tramontando

giù dietro le montagne.

E mi sentivo un po' spaventato perché dicevano che dentro c'erano molti fantasmi

il campo ed io eravamo una bambina e dovevamo tornare a casa da solo.

Sta diventando scuro…

Quindi, ecco come ho fatto la canzone di Mulberry...
