River - Yonder Mountain String Band

The river rolls and the river winds

And it seems to do something for my peace of mind

Though I didn’t know it, I came here looking to find

A place to forget about my troubles for awhile

I saw a mother with her little baby when I was walking here

There’s something 'bout a little baby that makes me laugh

They don’t seem to have a care

And I wonder if I’m ever gonna feel that way again

Until then, I’ll find some time to spend down by the river

I spend a lot of time looking forward

Looking back and looking down at my feet upon the ground

I fell backwards and when I opened my eyes

I found myself staring straight up in the sky

And it seemed like there was something there to learn

When I realized I had nowhere else to be

And the only sound that mattered was the wind that blowed so gentle through the

trees

Such a harmony down by the river

Well I heard music, it was soft and clear

And I sang out for the first time, I didn’t care who would hear

Because I found my answers in the wind and waves

And the magic in the little things that happen every day

And I played that tune on my old mandolin

And I didn’t hurt at all for company

Because the river likes to sing along and knows the words to every song I play

Il fiume scorre e il fiume si snoda

E sembra che faccia qualcosa per la mia tranquillità

Anche se non lo sapevo, sono venuto qui cercando di trovare

Un posto dove dimenticare per un po' i miei problemi

Ho visto una madre con il suo bambino mentre stavo passeggiando qui

C'è qualcosa in un bambino che mi fa ridere

Sembra che non se ne preoccupino

E mi chiedo se mi sentirò mai più in quel modo

Fino ad allora, troverò del tempo da passare in riva al fiume

Passo molto tempo a guardare avanti

Guardando indietro e guardando i miei piedi per terra

Sono caduto all'indietro e quando ho aperto gli occhi

Mi sono ritrovato a fissare il cielo

E sembrava che ci fosse qualcosa da imparare

Quando ho capito che non avevo nessun altro posto dove stare

E l'unico suono che contava era il vento che soffiava così dolcemente attraverso il

alberi

Che armonia giù dal fiume

Bene, ho sentito la musica, era morbida e chiara

E ho cantato per la prima volta, non mi importava chi avrebbe sentito

Perché ho trovato le mie risposte nel vento e nelle onde

E la magia nelle piccole cose che accadono ogni giorno

E ho suonato quella melodia sul mio vecchio mandolino

E non mi sono fatto male per niente per la compagnia

Perché al fiume piace cantare insieme e conosce le parole di ogni canzone che suono

Che bella giornata lungo il fiume
