The Struggle - Zach Williams

He woke up this morning to an angel in his bed

There was a devil in the bottle he was holding in his hand

With head still full of whiskey and his eyes now full of tears

He dusted off a bible that he hadn’t read in years

And he said

I am tired, I am torn and I can’t take it any more

You see this bottle has been my only friend But here I my heart to you I give

Oh Father can you take away these tears

She struggles with addiction

She struggles to fit in

She takes too much medication to cover up her tears

One pill to make her happy Too many make her sad

Then she notices the bible

In the hotel by her bed She says, «I am weary I am worn» and I can’t take it

any more

You see this bottle has been my only friend

Here I am my heart to you I give

Father can you wash away these sins

Then the sun came out and the skies turned blue and the pain they knew was gone

And as the old life died a new life it was born

It was a life they never knew

Until they followed you

C'era un diavolo nella bottiglia che teneva in mano

Con la testa ancora piena di whisky e gli occhi ora pieni di lacrime

Ha rispolverato una Bibbia che non leggeva da anni

E lui ha detto

Sono stanco, sono lacerato e non ce la faccio più

Vedi questa bottiglia è stata la mia unica amica, ma qui ti do il mio cuore

Oh Padre puoi togliere queste lacrime

Lei lotta con la dipendenza

Fatica ad adattarsi

Prende troppe medicine per coprire le lacrime

Una pillola per renderla felice Troppe la rendono triste

Poi nota la Bibbia

Nell'hotel accanto al suo letto dice: «Sono stanca di essere consumata» e non ce la faccio

più

Vedi, questa bottiglia è stata la mia unica amica

Eccomi il mio cuore per te ti do

Padre puoi lavare via questi peccati

Poi è uscito il sole e il cielo è diventato azzurro e il dolore che sapevano era scomparso

E quando la vecchia vita morì, ne nacque una nuova

Era una vita che non hanno mai conosciuto
