The Cars
The Cars sono stati un gruppo rock statunitense formatosi a Boston nel 1976. Emerso durante la scena new wave di fine anni '70, il gruppo era composto da Elliot Easton , Greg Hawkes , Ric Ocasek , Benjamin Orr e David Robinson . Ocasek e Orr condividevano la voce solista, con Ocasek come principale autore dei testi. Noti per successi come "Just What I Needed" , "Drive" e "My Best Friend's Girl" , la band fondeva il rock con la sensibilità pop. Il loro album di debutto omonimo divenne una pietra miliare del genere new wave. The Cars si sciolsero nel 1988, ma lasciarono un impatto duraturo sulla musica alternative e pop rock.
