The light that once poured from my eyes is now flickering

The butterflies turned to moths

Deep breaths became shallow

Rotation of the Earth seemed to have slowed

The roots I felt were holding me down-Ripped from the soil

There was no lesson to be learned

The absolute worst part

Was constantly having you behind my eyelids

In the back of my ruined/ head

Knowing that I love (ed) you

While you had the same

Instead they were filled with a stranger

Who betrayed and left debris

Who left the walls scattered

And the roof thrown far away

Only to let the contents of my home suffer

While I lay in silence

Knowing I had to leave

Knowing

I could never live there again

There was no lesson to be learned

I am still ruined

Reverting to thoughts of that broken home

The doors were locked

So, I came in through the broken window

Just to look around through debris

Sift through memories of ash

Walk through halls that once held life

It’s bitter and freezing

Haunted, to say the least

I resent myself for taking the time

To revisit the shared vision

I held on through the storm

Tried to hold together all that I could

I’m not enough

With roots ripped from this soil, this house is no god damn home

Move on

There is nothing left for us here

La luce che un tempo sgorgava dai miei occhi ora tremola

Le farfalle si sono trasformate in falene

I respiri profondi divennero superficiali

Sembrava che la rotazione della Terra fosse rallentata

Le radici che sentivo mi tenevano giù, strappate dal terreno

Non c'era lezione da imparare

La parte peggiore in assoluto

Ti avevo costantemente dietro le palpebre

Nella parte posteriore della mia testa rovinata

Invece erano pieni di uno sconosciuto

Che ha tradito e lasciato detriti

Chi ha lasciato le mura sparse

E il tetto gettato lontano

Solo per far soffrire il contenuto della mia casa

Mentre io resto in silenzio

Sapendo che dovevo andarmene

Conoscere

Non potrei mai più vivere lì

Non c'era lezione da imparare

Sono ancora rovinato

Ritornare ai pensieri su quella casa distrutta

Le porte erano chiuse

Quindi, sono entrato dalla finestra rotta

Solo per guardarsi intorno tra i detriti

Passa al setaccio i ricordi di cenere

Attraversa i corridoi che un tempo ospitavano la vita

È amaro e gelido

Infestato, per non dire altro

Mi risento per avermi dedicato del tempo

Per rivisitare la visione condivisa

Ho tenuto duro durante la tempesta

Ho cercato di tenere insieme tutto ciò che potevo

Non sono abbastanza

Con le radici strappate da questo terreno, questa casa non è una dannata casa
