Shall we gather at the river, Where bright angel feet have trod?

With it’s crystal tide forever flowing by the throne of God.

On the borders of the river washing up it’s silver spray,

We will walk and worship ever, O the happy golden Day!

Ere we reach the shining river lay we every burden down,

Grace our spirits will deliver and provide a robe and crown.

At the smiling of the river mirrored on the Saviors face,

Saints whom death will never sever lift the songs of saving grace

On the bosom of the river where the Savior King we own.

We shall meet and sorrow never neath the glory of the throne.

Soon we’ll reach the shining river, soon our pilgrimage will cease,

Soon our happy hearts will quiver with the melody of peace

Ci raduneremo al fiume, dove hanno calcato piedi d'angelo luminosi?

Con la sua marea cristallina che scorre per sempre presso il trono di Dio.

Ai bordi del fiume che lava è spruzzi d'argento,

Cammineremo e adoreremo per sempre, o felice giorno d'oro!

Prima di raggiungere il fiume splendente, deponiamo ogni fardello,

Grace i nostri spiriti consegneranno e forniranno una veste e una corona.

Al sorriso del fiume riflesso sul volto dei Salvatori,

Santi che la morte non reciderà mai innalzeranno i canti della grazia salvifica

In grembo al fiume dove possediamo il Re Salvatore.

Ci incontreremo e non ci affliggeremo mai sotto la gloria del trono.

Presto raggiungeremo il fiume splendente, presto il nostro pellegrinaggio cesserà,

Presto i nostri cuori felici tremeranno con la melodia della pace
