Horace the horse on the merry-go-round

Went up and down, round and round

He’s been sad since the day he found

He’s the very last horse on the merry-go-round

The music began and away they go

High and low, to and fro

Poor old Horace would always say

«I'm the very last horse again today»

How he tried and tried and tried

But he just never could win

Horace cried and cried and cried,

'Cause all the other horses were ahead of him

Then came the day on the merry-go-round

Horace turned, looked around, then said, «Gosh, oh gee!

I’m the very first horse on the merry-go-round

The others are following me!»

Orazio il cavallo sulla giostra

Andava su e giù, in tondo

È triste dal giorno in cui l'ha trovato

È l'ultimo cavallo sulla giostra

La musica è iniziata e se ne vanno

Alto e basso, avanti e indietro

Direbbe sempre il povero vecchio Orazio

«Sono di nuovo l'ultimo cavallo oggi»

Come ha provato e provato e provato

Ma non ha mai potuto vincere

Orazio pianse e pianse e pianse,

Perché tutti gli altri cavalli erano davanti a lui

Poi è arrivato il giorno della giostra

Orazio si voltò, si guardò intorno, poi disse: «Accidenti, oh accidenti!

Sono il primo cavallo in assoluto sulla giostra

Gli altri mi seguono!»
