They fell that year they vanished

From the earth,

Never knowing the cause

Or what laws the offended,

The women few as well

And the babies they tendered.

Left to die left to cry

All condemned by their birth.

They fell like rain

Across the thirsty land,

In their heart they were slain,

In their god still believing

All their pity and pain,

In that season of grieving

All in vain all in vain

Just for one helping hand.

For no one heard their prayers,

In a world bent on pleasure

Form others people care

They simply closed their eyes

They create allot of sound

In jazz and right time measure

The trumpets screamed till dawn

To drown the children’s cries.

They fell like leaves

Its people its prime,

Simple man kindly man,

And no one new his crime

The became in that hour

Like the small desert flower

Simply covered by the silent wind

In sands of time.

They fell that year

Before a cruel foe

They had little to give

But their lives and their passion,

And their longing to live

In their way

In their fashion

So their harvest can

Thrive their children can grow.

They fell like flies

Their eyes still full of sound

Like a dove its flight

In the path of rifle

That fall down were it might,

That holds on with its might

As if death were a trifle

And to bring to an end

A life barely begun.

And I am of that race,

Who die in unknown places

Who perished in their pride,

Whose blood in rivers ran,

In agony and fright

With courage on their faces

They went in to the night,

That waits for every man.

They fell like tears

And never new what for

In that summer of strife

Of massacre and war

Their only crime was life

There only guilt was fear

The children of Armenia

Nothing less nothing more

Sono caduti quell'anno sono scomparsi

dalla terra,

Non conoscendo mai la causa

O quali leggi gli offesi,

Poche anche le donne

E i bambini li hanno tenuti.

Lasciato a morire lasciato a piangere

Tutti condannati dalla loro nascita.

Sono caduti come pioggia

Attraverso la terra assetata,

Nel loro cuore furono uccisi,

Nel loro dio ancora credendo

Tutta la loro pietà e dolore,

In quella stagione del lutto

Tutto invano tutto invano

Solo per una mano.

Perché nessuno ha ascoltato le loro preghiere,

In un mondo piegato al piacere

Forma gli altri a cui interessa la gente

Hanno semplicemente chiuso gli occhi

Creano un sacco di suono

Nel jazz e con la giusta misura del tempo

Le trombe hanno urlato fino all'alba

Per affogare le grida dei bambini.

Caddero come foglie

La sua gente è il fiore all'occhiello,

Uomo semplice uomo gentile,

E nessuno nuovo il suo crimine

Divenne in quell'ora

Come il piccolo fiore del deserto

Semplicemente coperto dal vento silenzioso

Nelle sabbie del tempo.

Sono caduti quell'anno

Davanti a un nemico crudele

Avevano poco da dare

Ma le loro vite e la loro passione,

E il loro desiderio di vivere

A modo loro

Alla loro moda

Quindi il loro raccolto può

Thrive i loro figli possono crescere.

Sono caduti come mosche

I loro occhi sono ancora pieni di suono

Come una colomba il suo volo

Nel percorso del fucile

Quella caduta se potesse,

Che resiste con la sua potenza

Come se la morte fosse una sciocchezza

E per portare a fine

Una vita appena iniziata.

E io sono di quella razza,

Che muoiono in luoghi sconosciuti

che sono morti nel loro orgoglio,

il cui sangue scorreva nei fiumi,

In agonia e paura

Con il coraggio sulla faccia

Sono entrati nella notte,

Che aspetta ogni uomo.

Sono caduti come lacrime

E mai nuovo per cosa

In quell'estate di conflitto

Di massacro e guerra

Il loro unico crimine era la vita

L'unico senso di colpa era la paura

I bambini dell'Armenia

Niente di meno niente di più
