I came of age as I left

The ear turned soft by her breath

A pocket-knife beat in her chest

As words spilled warm from her breasts

She said we need not worry anymore

We can take it back

Back when trying was no part of living

Back when the sun was only giving

Back when your eyes were blue on whitest white

'Fore darkness had stolen even one night

Back where loving was not of of weakness

Towards where the hunger is oh so shameless
