A long time ago, in a story so old

There was a beauty and and a beast, or so I’ve been told

They were these two strangers, two lonely souls

But it’s not what you think, no, here’s how it goes:

Lets start with the Beast, he was ugly and scary

Pathetic and poor, and horribly hairy

The outside was rough, but once he smiled

You could see that he had a heart of gold inside

The Beast loved a Beauty, this pretty little thing

She was the fairest of them all, and she could dance and sing

But unlike the beast whose love shined the best

She loved herself, never cared for the rest

Il est amoureux (he is in love)

One day the beast found the Beauty «Perfection»

Sitting by the lake (making love to her reflection)

The Beast then decided that it was the time

To tell the pretty Beauty of his feelings inside

He stepped out from the shades with a flower in hand

Said bravely: «My lady, the fairest in this land

I might not be a prince, but my heart beats for you!»

Oh the Beauty just laughed, so cold, so cruel

«You smelly old fat hairy pig», she said

«You thought I could love you?

I’d rather be dead!»

Still laughing she turned and danced to her home

Leaving the Beast, heart-broken, alone

La Belle et la Bête…

While the Beauty lives all by herself still today

The Beast learned his lesson and changed his ways

He found that true beauty cannot be seen

And that things are most likely not what they seem

Tanto tempo fa, in una storia così antica

C'era una bellezza e una bestia, o almeno così mi è stato detto

Erano questi due estranei, due anime sole

Ma non è quello che pensi, no, ecco come va:

Cominciamo con la Bestia, era brutto e spaventoso

Patetico e povero, e orribilmente peloso

L'esterno era ruvido, ma una volta ha sorriso

Si vedeva che aveva un cuore d'oro dentro

La Bestia adorava una bella, questa piccola cosa carina

Era la più bella di tutte e sapeva ballare e cantare

Ma a differenza della bestia il cui amore brillava di più

Amava se stessa, non le importava mai del resto

Quelle tragédie (che tragedia)

Elle est comme le jour (lei è come il giorno)

Il est comme la nuit (è come la notte)

Il est amoureux (è innamorato)

Elle ne se soucie pas (non le importa)

Vont-ils mourir tout seule?

(Moriranno da soli?)

Su verra (vedremo)

Un giorno la bestia trovò la Bellezza «Perfezione»

Seduta in riva al lago (facendo l'amore con il suo riflesso)

La Bestia decise quindi che era giunto il momento

Per raccontare la bella bellezza dei suoi sentimenti dentro

È uscito dall'ombra con un fiore in mano

Disse coraggiosamente: «Mia signora, la più bella in questa terra

Potrei non essere un principe, ma il mio cuore batte per te!»

Oh la Bella ha appena riso, così fredda, così crudele

«Vecchio porco peloso, grasso e puzzolente», disse

«Pensavi che potessi amarti?

Preferirei essere morto!»

Continuando a ridere, si voltò e ballò fino a casa sua

Lasciando la Bestia, con il cuore spezzato, da sola

La Belle et la Bête…

Mentre la Bella vive da sola ancora oggi

La Bestia ha imparato la lezione e ha cambiato i suoi modi

Ha scoperto che la vera bellezza non può essere vista

E che molto probabilmente le cose non sono come sembrano
