Bizarre Flowers / A Violent Mist - maudlin of the Well

Each bulb about me blooms

Gives its own luminescence

Like some phantom lantern glare

There is nothing in this place but rainfall

Forlorn, dreary secret ghosts

That hide between the twilit trees

Doth gaze upon the spores that gleam

They only know the floral dream

By the shade of wither’d day

How the moonbeams dance and waver

Splendid through the pallid air

The poison mists doth flow and gather

Burst from ev’ry season’d flow’ret

Like mimosas of the night

Fleeth garden charms that sparkle

Like a shattered lantern’s light

I breathe the vapours that surround

Like so many seedling faeries

Rose, and thistle

And berry red

That preside over the dead

Tell me what they’ve seen and said:

«Breathe no more

Thy ghost dost wait

To take thy place

At Garden’s Gate

Poison, venom

Toxic fume hast ensured

Thy witless doom!»

Ogni lampadina su di me fiorisce

Dà la propria luminescenza

Come un bagliore fantasma di una lanterna

Non c'è nient'altro in questo posto che pioggia

Fantasmi segreti desolati e tetri

Quel nascondiglio tra gli alberi crepuscolari

Guarda le spore che brillano

Conoscono solo il sogno floreale

All'ombra del giorno appassito

Come danzano e ondeggiano i raggi di luna

Splendido nell'aria pallida

Le nebbie velenose scorrono e si accumulano

Scoppia da ogni stagione di flow'ret

Come le mimose della notte

Affascinanti giardini che brillano

Come la luce di una lanterna infranta

Respiro i vapori che circondano

Come tante fate della piantina

Rosa e cardo

E rosso bacca

Che presiede ai morti

Dimmi cosa hanno visto e detto:

"Non respirare più

Il tuo fantasma non aspetta

Per prendere il tuo posto

Al Garden's Gate

Veleno, veleno

I fumi tossici si sono assicurati

Il tuo destino insensato!»
