How do you find the strength to pick yourself up, to carry on?

To look that boy in the eyes, day after day, and say «Everything is okay»?

How do you come back to a place where there once was peace?

Where there was joy

in family?

But with him gone, it just brings her to her knees

She had nowhere to run, from her situation

One half of the whole now gone, she was left to raise her sons all alone

Without any time to grieve, she just rolled up her sleeves

(All alone) she stayed strong, she picked up, she moved on

She always came back

Her broken heart for her broken home

Dark was the day, followed by night

Those tired legs dragged in with restless eyes

Forced to fight for survival, she found a way to provide

She worked two jobs, and sold her rings to the pawn shop.

Ambushed by fear,

she was in the corner

But she stood her ground, she couldn’t retreat any further

She became like the dove

She was the dove that brought the Olive Branch

Searching for a place that she could rest

She was the hope for tomorrow

She cried, «Our Father, who art in Heaven, give us the strength to live today.

God, help us carry on.»

Come trovi la forza di rialzarti, di andare avanti?

Guardare quel ragazzo negli occhi, giorno dopo giorno, e dire "Va tutto bene"?

Come si torna in un luogo dove una volta c'era la pace?

Dove c'era gioia

in famiglia?

Ma con lui andato, la mette in ginocchio

Non aveva un posto dove scappare, dalla sua situazione

Una metà del totale ormai scomparso, è stata lasciata a crescere i suoi figli da sola

Senza tempo per piangere, si è semplicemente rimboccata le maniche

(Tutta sola) è rimasta forte, si è ripresa, è andata avanti

Tornava sempre

Il suo cuore spezzato per la sua casa distrutta

Il giorno era buio, seguito dalla notte

Quelle gambe stanche si trascinavano dentro con occhi irrequieti

Costretta a combattere per la sopravvivenza, ha trovato un modo per provvedere

Ha svolto due lavori e ha venduto i suoi anelli al banco dei pegni.

In un'imboscata dalla paura,

lei era nell'angolo

Ma è rimasta ferma, non poteva ritirarsi ulteriormente

È diventata come la colomba

Era la colomba che ha portato il Ramo d'Ulivo

Alla ricerca di un posto in cui riposare

Lei era la speranza per il domani

Ella gridò: «Padre nostro, che sei nei cieli, dacci la forza di vivere oggi.

Dio, aiutaci ad andare avanti».
