an offering of demonic psalms

their prayer doused in death

beckoning praise from the earth

a false witness who pours out lies

and hands that shed innocent blood

wondrous signs, holy sights, prophesy

in the name of heaven

haughty eyes, feed you lies, in disguise

scheming in a futile fight

wolves as sheep — snakes as priests

leading flocks with their wayward staffs

turn your back — they’ll smile and laugh

as they plot to overthrow the throne

be wary — of what you see
