Light Inside - The Whereabouts

There is a light

That I have found

It’s deep inside

And all around

The heavens do

Declare with sound

As lightning strikes

This hallowed ground

And though the cold winds blow

This fire burns

It penetrates my bones

It keeps me warm

And when the summer comes

It feels like ecstasy

It’s awake and alive

Deep inside

There are some

Who walk through life

Their eyes shut closed

Hands at their side

But I look forward to that ride

My hands in the air

I smile wide

And darkness closes in

Surrounds the night

But does it dare step in

Into the light
