Self Freshness - Whitewoods

Good afternoon.

Provost Houlihan, thank you for that warm introduction.

Chairman Tully, members of the Board of Trustees, President Dugan,

distinguished guests, members of the administration, faculty and staff,

and fellow graduates.

I’m honored to be here today to represent the winter

class of 2016

So first off, congratulations!

Today, we flip the page and mark an end to another chapter of

Our story.

As I look out into the crowd before me, I sense a wave of emotions

from everyone present.

For family and friends, the sense of pride you have in

your graduate’s accomplishments is unmeasurable.

For faculty, another class you

have successfully educated and mentored throughout our time

Yet nothing — nothing — can top the feelings that we graduates have right now

at this moment.

We made it here in one piece.

We survived all those exams,

lectures and research papers that we once thought would never finish

It all started a couple years back when we opened our acceptance letters and

decided to attend St. Francis College.

The small college of big dreams.

The college that has granted all of us amazing opportunities and opened doors

for us in numerous ways

St. Francis, a liberal arts college, has given us the tools we need to go

forward and succeed.

St. Francis not only prepared all of us students to pass

our GMATS, GREs, CPAs, or any other obstacle we will face after this day,

but gave us confidence to touch the lives of others and help those when needed

The qualities we have gained throughout our years here have given us an

advantage after we leave this campus.

We are part of a very small percentage of

college graduates who have been exposed to more than just our textbooks.

Molded into well-rounded and confident individuals we are ready to start the

next page of the new chapter of our story

I’ve been working on two films simultaneously, and… so… uh…

The Ultimation is giving me a lot of… breathing room from… A Midsummer

Night’s, going from, uh, black and white to color film.

And, um…

y-y'know, a couple of the page reads, we read back and forth, and that-that's

healthy.

Um, keep a certain freshness… So…

will return!

and, y’know, the legend has it that those… young filmmakers who grew up in

the age of television have been trapped into… these technological advances —

uh, it’s not something that interests me, personally, I think it’s wonderful —

Quindi prima di tutto, congratulazioni!

Oggi, scorriamo la pagina e segneremo la fine di un altro capitolo di

La nostra storia.

Mentre guardo la folla davanti a me, percepisco un'ondata di emozioni

da tutti i presenti.

Per la famiglia e gli amici, il senso di orgoglio in cui sei

i risultati del tuo laureato non sono misurabili.

Per la facoltà, un'altra classe tu

sono stati istruiti e guidati con successo nel corso del nostro tempo

Eppure niente — niente — può superare i sentimenti che abbiamo in questo momento noi laureati

in questo momento.

Ce l'abbiamo fatta qui in un unico pezzo.

Siamo sopravvissuti a tutti quegli esami,

conferenze e articoli di ricerca che un tempo pensavamo non sarebbero mai finiti

Tutto è iniziato un paio di anni fa, quando abbiamo aperto le nostre lettere di accettazione e

ha deciso di frequentare il St. Francis College.

Il piccolo college dei grandi sogni.

Il college che ha concesso a tutti noi opportunità straordinarie e ha aperto le porte

per noi in numerosi modi

St. Francis, un college di arti liberali, ci ha fornito gli strumenti di cui abbiamo bisogno per andare

avanti e avere successo.

San Francesco non solo ha preparato tutti noi studenti a passare

i nostri GMATS, GRE, CPA o qualsiasi altro ostacolo che dovremo affrontare dopo questo giorno,

ma ci ha dato fiducia per toccare la vita degli altri e aiutarli quando necessario

Le qualità che abbiamo acquisito durante i nostri anni qui ci hanno dato un

vantaggio dopo aver lasciato questo campus.

Facciamo parte di una piccolissima percentuale di

laureati che sono stati esposti a qualcosa di più dei nostri libri di testo.

Modellati in individui a tutto tondo e fiduciosi, siamo pronti per iniziare

pagina successiva del nuovo capitolo della nostra storia

Ho lavorato a due film contemporaneamente e... quindi... ehm...

The Ultimation mi sta dando molto... respiro da... una mezza estate

Night's, passando dal bianco e nero al film a colori.

E, ehm...

sai, un paio di pagine si leggono, leggiamo avanti e indietro e basta

sano.

Ehm, mantieni una certa freschezza... Allora...

sarà di ritorno!

e, sai, la leggenda narra che quei... giovani registi che sono cresciuti

l'era della televisione è rimasta intrappolata in... questi progressi tecnologici —

uh, non è qualcosa che mi interessa, personalmente, penso che sia meraviglioso...
