The Drifters
The Drifters sono un gruppo vocale statunitense, formatosi nel maggio del 1953 sotto la guida dei produttori Ahmet Ertegun e Jerry Wexler . Inizialmente creato per mettere in risalto il tenore acuto di Clyde McPhatter , ex membro dei The Dominoes , il gruppo si è rapidamente affermato nel genere rhythm and blues. Dopo l'uscita McPhatter alla fine del 1955, The Drifters hanno continuato a prosperare nonostante i frequenti cambi di formazione, mantenendo il loro status di uno dei gruppi R&B più popolari fino alla metà degli anni '60.
