Early Sunday morning

When my parents were asleep

I snuck out of my bedroom

To the kitchen I did creep

I went into the cupboard

And I got some peanut butter

I was oh, so careful

Not to wake my mother

With the sticky icky peanut butter

Stuck to me like fudge

I tried to shake my brother

But Tommy wouldn’t budge

When I whispered in his ear

He was still asleep

So I crawled upon his tummy

And I tickled both his feet

First I heard him grumble

And he chased me down the stairs

And grabbed me by the ear lobe

And tried to pull my hair

He hit him in the tummy

And he tried to grab my face

And round and round the house

We both began to chase

I went and got some ice cream

And poured it in his hair

Then he threw an apple at me

So I hit him with a pear

The eggs were hurled across the room

I hid behind the chairs

And Tommy ran right after me

When I ran up the stairs

We were hanging on the curtains

When our parents saw us there

With chocolate on our underwear

And ice cream in our hair

There was chocolate on the couch

And eggs upon the chairs

Tomatoes on the door

There was ketchup on the stairs

Milk spilt on the floor

Curtains ripped and torn

Peanut butter on the rug

And our pajamas torn

Our Daddy was so angry

Mom yelled at both of us

She said we had to clean up

There was nothing to discuss

So now on Sunday mornings

When my parents are asleep

Sometimes I still get hungry

And I want something to eat

Domenica mattina presto

Quando i miei genitori dormivano

Sono sgattaiolato fuori dalla mia camera da letto

In cucina mi sono insinuato

Sono andato nell'armadio

E ho ottenuto del burro di arachidi

Sono stato oh, così attento

Per non svegliare mia madre

Con il burro di arachidi appiccicoso

Attaccato a me come un caramello

Ho cercato di scuotere mio fratello

Ma Tommy non si sarebbe mosso

Quando gli ho sussurrato all'orecchio

Stava ancora dormendo

Così ho strisciato sulla sua pancia

E gli ho solleticato entrambi i piedi

Per prima cosa l'ho sentito brontolare

E mi ha inseguito giù per le scale

E mi afferrò per il lobo dell'orecchio

E ho provato a tirarmi i capelli

Lo ha colpito alla pancia

E ha provato ad afferrare la mia faccia

E in giro per casa

Abbiamo iniziato entrambi a inseguire

Sono andato a prendere un gelato

E gliela versò tra i capelli

Poi mi ha lanciato una mela

Quindi l'ho colpito con una pera

Le uova furono lanciate attraverso la stanza

Mi sono nascosto dietro le sedie

E Tommy mi è corso dietro

Quando sono corso su per le scale

Eravamo appesi alle tende

Quando i nostri genitori ci hanno visto là

Con il cioccolato sulla nostra biancheria intima

E gelato tra i nostri capelli

C'era del cioccolato sul divano

E uova sulle sedie

Pomodori sulla porta

C'era del ketchup sulle scale

Latte versato sul pavimento

Tende strappate e strappate

Burro di arachidi sul tappeto

E il nostro pigiama strappato

Nostro papà era così arrabbiato

La mamma ci ha urlato contro

Ha detto che dovevamo pulire

Non c'era niente di cui discutere

Quindi ora la domenica mattina

Quando i miei genitori dormono

A volte ho ancora fame

E voglio qualcosa da mangiare

Esco di soppiatto dalla mia camera da letto

In cucina continuo a strisciare

Vado nell'armadio

E prendo del burro di arachidi

Ma sono oh, così attento
