Well I was walking down the street

When I chanced to see

A baby waddling back and forth

And crawling right to me And she said, «Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke with me?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Won’t you have a little smoke with me?»

Her hat was pulled dwn over her eyes,

her diaper it was ripped.

And dangling down to my surprise:

A cigarette between her lips

And she said, «Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke with me?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Won’t you have a little smoke with me?»

Well I took that smoke, began to choke,

I gagged and coughed and spit.

My throat felt sore, I fell to the floor

But the cigarette still was lit.

And she said, «Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke with me?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Won’t you have a little smoke with me?»

Oh my eyes ouffed out, I began to shout

And I coughed and choked and gagged.

I was close to death, I caught my breath.

She said, «Want another drag?»

And she said, «Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke with me?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Won’t you have a little smoke with me?»

For goodness sake how my head ached.

it ook my breath away.

As I coughed and gasped I fgelt her grasp

Once more I heard her say

And she said, «Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke with me?

Have a little smoke?

Have a little smoke?

Won’t you have a little smoke with me?»

I think I know why babies smoke:

It makes them think they’re older.

But me I think I’m old enough

And this is what I told her:

«I won’t have a little smoke?

won’t have a little smoke?

won’t have a little smoke with you?

Won’t have a little smoke?

Won’t have a little smoke?

Won’t have a little smoke with you?»

Bene, stavo camminando per strada

Quando ho avuto la possibilità di vedere

Un bambino che ondeggia avanti e indietro

E strisciando dritta verso di me, lei disse: «Fatti un po' di fumo?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po' con me?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po'?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con me?»

Il suo cappello era tirato giù sugli occhi,

il suo pannolino è stato strappato.

E penzolando con la mia sorpresa:

Una sigaretta tra le sue labbra

E lei disse: «Fatti un po' di fumo?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po' con me?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po'?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con me?»

Bene, ho preso quel fumo, ho iniziato a soffocare,

Ho vomitato, tossito e sputato.

Mi faceva male la gola, sono caduta a terra

Ma la sigaretta era ancora accesa.

E lei disse: «Fatti un po' di fumo?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po' con me?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po'?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con me?»

Oh i miei occhi spenti, ho iniziato a gridare

E ho tossito, soffocato e imbavagliato.

Ero vicino alla morte, ho ripreso fiato.

Disse: «Vuoi un altro tiro?»

E lei disse: «Fatti un po' di fumo?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po' con me?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po'?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con me?»

Per carità, quanto mi faceva male la testa.

mi ha tolto il fiato.

Mentre tossivo e sussultavo, le sfuggì la presa

Ancora una volta l'ho sentita dire

E lei disse: «Fatti un po' di fumo?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po' con me?

Fumi un po'?

Fumi un po'?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con me?»

Penso di sapere perché i bambini fumano:

Li fa pensare di essere più vecchi.

Ma io penso di essere abbastanza grande

E questo è quello che le ho detto:

«Non voglio fumare un po'?

non avrà un po 'di fumo?

non vuoi fumare un po' con te?

Non avrai un po 'di fumo?

Non avrai un po 'di fumo?

Non vuoi fumare un po' con te?»
