Beholds it but through darkened glasses.

Per il debole occhio umano aperto

Così vuole il suo Re, che ha proibito

Il sollevamento del coperchio sfrangiato;

E così l'Anima triste che qui passa

Lo vede ma attraverso occhiali scuriti.
