Follow the Wolf - King Diamond

The morning slowly came, my life about to end

Then the wind would change, all but one had left

The angelic wolf had stayed, without a word she said

Follow me, follow the wolf

And so I followed the wolf, up the wooded mountain side

Close to the top… she suddenly stopped

Sun to the east, man and beast

Just two silhouettes… in a landscape never to forget

Like dark decaying teeth, I saw the village beneath

A few and distant roads all leading away from here

Nobody in the streets… decay

I must follow the wolf again, I must follow her till the end

The end

The wolf had turned around, facing higher ground

And there it was… the house of god

In awe I looked as time had stopped

Follow me

I had never seen a church like this before

«this place is terrible» inscribed above the door

Like dark decaying teeth, I saw the church within

A few distant thoughts, inviting me in to sin

Nobody in the church… decay

Shrouded in a gloomy light, as if my final night

I wonder if God was ever here

Or did he turn away in fear, did he turn away in fear?

Il mattino lentamente arrivò, la mia vita stava per finire

Poi il vento sarebbe cambiato, tutti tranne uno se ne erano andati

Il lupo angelico era rimasto, senza dire una parola

Seguimi, segui il lupo

E così ho seguito il lupo, su per il versante boscoso della montagna

Vicino alla cima... si fermò all'improvviso

Sole a oriente, uomo e bestia

Solo due sagome... in un paesaggio da non dimenticare

Come denti scuri in decomposizione, ho visto il villaggio sottostante

Poche e lontane strade che portano tutte lontano da qui

Nessuno per le strade... decadenza

Devo seguire di nuovo il lupo, devo seguirla fino alla fine

Fine

Il lupo si era voltato, rivolto verso un'altura

Ed eccola lì... la casa di Dio

In soggezione guardavo come se il tempo si fosse fermato

Seguimi

Non avevo mai visto una chiesa come questa prima d'ora

«questo posto è terribile» scritto sopra la porta

Come denti scuri in decomposizione, ho visto la chiesa all'interno

Pochi pensieri lontani, che mi invitano a peccare

Nessuno nella chiesa... decadenza

Avvolto in una luce cupa, come se fosse la mia ultima notte

Mi chiedo se Dio sia mai stato qui

O si è allontanato per la paura, si è allontanato per la paura?
