Moribund Be Thy Creation - Dark Fortress

A hill outside a town in a dry and dusty land

Crowned by twenty crosses or more

Soldiers in a kind of armour that I had never seen

With short and shimmering swords

And a crowd had gathered at the foot of one cross

Gathered to watch the spectacle

I’ve watched your saviour die and he wasn’t resurrected

All your faith has been a lie — Jesus cried… Jesus cried

The poor little worm, strapped onto a tree

Begging for his life and screaming to be free

Cried bloody tears and he wet his pants

I could only laugh as this strange god ends

And with my last laugh I am carried away

There was no reason for me to stay

For this god was a fake like most of them are

The only lord is the master of war

(Across the oceans of time I returned to the castle only to be carried away

again

To some other place, to some other time…)

Non c'era motivo per me di restare

Perché questo dio era un falso come la maggior parte di loro

L'unico signore è il padrone della guerra
